A redistricting plan leaves Dillon divided. Coach Taylor (Kyle Chandler) is faced with the daunting task of building an East Dillon Lions football team from scratch. Vince (Michael B. Jordan), whose incredible speed positions him as the Lions best and possibly only hope, lacks the discipline and temper of a true team player. He instantly clashes with the team's new rising star, running back Luke (Matt Lauria). Other newcomers include Jess (Jurnee Smollett), an expert in the sport who will prove to be a crucial part of the new team.
